What does it mean to have a retreat-style design?

This is a question we get a lot during our consultations. While there isn't a distinct definition, retreat-style designs often incorporate open-plan, free-flowing living, softened with beautiful warm textures and tones. What our clients are saying

" The process we went through with Rob and Briony meant we were all striving for the same outcome. We know they understand how we want our home to function and feel and at times we’ve relied on their knowledge and experience to help guide our decisions."

Alex McCall - St Kilda

Why create a nook?

Our families continue to grow as the year’s pass, while often our homes do not. At the Woodlands Project we transformed this bedroom into a retreat space for the kids by adding large storybook windows to bathe the room in natural sunlight and create a cosy space to read a book or daydream. The beauty of this window seat is that it doubles up as storage for the kids toys and books.

First Impressions

Reminiscent of the hotel lobby, a built-in entry nook is a little escape space with comfy cushions that can also double as storage for shoes or umbrellas under the big daybed. As a storage solution, its versatility is considerable with horizontal and vertical options using shelving and hooks. With a built in nook, you can add some grandeur to your entry and a cosy place to sit and tie your shoes or even read your favourite book.

Edwardian to Raw

introducing our latest progression photos on our Raw Style coming to life with this 1920′s Edwardian Style project in St Kilda.

Our Raw style is starting to evolve with the industrial aesthetic in the bathrooms using concrete style tiles with stunning bold feature tiles.

Externally the accents of the colorbond monument Standing Seam cladding is a stunning raw feature against the exposed red bricks.

Stay tuned next month to see how these newly created modern, clean lines are a beautiful representation of this industrial style that is comfortable enough for family living.
